“Payer’s song" comes from an idea, an imagination.
Day and night I overlook the tall buildings outside the window, staring at the distant sky, desire for everything in the world, so I use my imagination to describe it, sing it, and then praise it. The object of singing is a kind of belief, which comes from imagination outside the desert but can't reach.
* This piece was premiered by conductor Lin Dayeh and the NCPA Orchestra as part of the 6th NCPA Young Composers Programme.
